| Governance Core Group Update
The Governance Core group met at noon at IWC on June 27, 2008.
Present were: Sr. Odilia, Sr. Kathleen, Sr. Gregoria, Sr. Valerie, Sr. Doloretta, Sr. Laura, and Sr. Frances Cabrini.
Thanks were extended to Sr. Valerie, Sr. Stephana and Sr. Pauline Marie for the previous days Chezard awards presentations. She will ask Sr. Mildred to post the honorees on the web site. Sr. Stephana will roll off the LAMP group, and Sr. Edwardine will take her place. Sr. Laura mentioned a project the Sisters in Corpus Christi did. They posted baby pictures and a current picture of all their Sisters in the convent hallway. It was suggested that Sr. Laura recommend a similar project to the Relational Core Group.
Sr. Kathleen reported that
LAMP group guidelines for the vacation/relaxation are drawn up.
Funds need to be solicited and set aside for vacations.
As with the Chezard Awards LAMP group, an alternate will come on next year.
Sr. Odilia said that:
Chapter 2012 calls on the GCG to plan process by which all Sisters can be involved in both Chapter of Affairs and Chapter of Elections.
Canon Lawyers will be contacted to see how this procedure can work for us within our document requirements.
Sr. Amata is checking on possible directory changes.
GCG will invite Sr. Amata to their next meeting to discuss possible collaboration.
The GCG affirms that the pre-chapter discernment process opens up the pool of leadership available to the Congregation.
The Vocation Promotion model presented to us during June Community days was discussed briefly. The following items were highlighted:
the 20% of ones time commitment suggested
the nurturing of interested young women
the inclusion of lay people on an advisory board
The next GCG meeting is scheduled for Saturday July 12, 2008. |
